Interstarch took part in the 30th edition of Fi Asia Indonesia, held from 16 to 18 September at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in Kemayoran. The event is positioned by its organisers as one of the largest food and beverage ingredient exhibitions in Asia and serves as a meeting point for ingredient suppliers, food manufacturers, distributors and other industry professionals from the region and beyond.
The scale of the 2026 edition reflects the importance of the Southeast Asian market for the food ingredients industry. The exhibition brought together more than 24,000 attendees, 700+ suppliers and 28,000 m² of gross exhibiting space. The exhibitor base covered a wide range of categories, including functional food, beverages, proteins, dairy and dairy alternatives, emulsifiers, flavours and spices, as well as other food ingredients.
Fi Asia has been part of the international Food Ingredients portfolio since 1996 and is specifically focused on the extensive Southeast Asian food industry. The ASEAN region is considered an important emerging market for food ingredients, making Jakarta a relevant meeting point for companies looking to develop business across Southeast Asia.
For Interstarch, participation in the Jakarta edition was an opportunity to strengthen its presence in the region and establish direct contact with local and international companies operating in the food and beverage sector. During the three-day exhibition, the Interstarch team held meetings with existing customers and partners as well as new companies interested in ingredients for different food applications.
The exhibition programme also reflected the current priorities of the regional food industry. Alongside the exhibition floor, Fi Asia 2026 featured technical presentations, innovation tours, an Innovation Zone, Sustainability Square, business matching activities and a dedicated platform addressing halal requirements for the ingredients industry.
For the Interstarch team, the exhibition provided an opportunity to discuss current ingredient requirements directly with manufacturers and R&D and procurement professionals, as well as to better understand the specific needs and development directions of the Southeast Asian food market.
Following the exhibition, Interstarch will continue discussions initiated in Jakarta with customers, partners and new business contacts.
